What do you do as a Data Scientist in the Delivery Domain at Coolblue?

Developing, industrializing and managing data science solutions is an important part of our work. You work with modern methods, technologies and large amounts of data from different sources. You develop forecasts for capacity, workload and transport and use SQL to access data. You work in a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, data analysts and analytics engineers. You have room to work and learn independently, with guidance and coaching from experienced fellow Coolblue employees. This is how you make Coolblue a little better every day.

  • Develop forecasts and models that enable the Delivery & Installation domain to make better planning decisions, for example about personnel capacity, workload and the required number of transports.
  • Discuss with stakeholders what they need and work with domain specialists, data analysts, analytics engineers, data scientists and development teams to arrive at better solutions.
  • Develop and improve our own modeling software by writing high-quality, production-ready Python code. You ensure well-tested, maintainable and scalable code and reliable pipelines that are suitable for use in daily operations.
  • Access data from different systems using SQL, so that complex operational issues become clear and easy to understand.
  • Write clear technical documentation so that models, code and pipelines are understandable, maintainable and transferable.
