What do you do as a Financial Accountant at Coolblue?

As a Financial Accountant, you and your colleagues keep Coolblue’s financial administration in order. You contribute to the month-end closing, process and check journal entries, prepare balance sheet specifications and investigate discrepancies in financial data. You are also the point of contact for a number of financial processes. Think of payroll entries, payments, bank transactions and accounting for specific domains. You work with Financial Control, Finance Operations, Business Control and colleagues from operations. You also help make finance processes smarter. • Coordinate the month-end closing for operational finance teams and domains.
• Process and check journal entries accurately, completely and on time.
• Prepare and substantiate balance sheet specifications and financial reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in figures and financial data.
• Manage financial processes, such as payroll entries, payments, bank transactions and accounting for specific domains.
• Help stakeholders provide information on time and in full.
• Support audits and financial reporting.
• Contribute to automation projects and investigate how AI makes finance processes smarter.

This is what you bring

• A completed higher professional education (hbo) degree in Finance, Accountancy, Business Economics, Business Administration, Economics, or a comparable field.
• Relevant work experience in financial accounting, audit, finance operations, or a comparable financial environment. Experience with Workday, payroll, banking and payment processes, or financial data is a plus.
• Experience with general ledger administration, month-end closing, balance sheet specifications, or financial reconciliations.
• Good command of Dutch, both spoken and written. You also have sufficient English for collaboration, documentation, and contact with auditors.
• A solid grounding in spreadsheets, such as Excel or Google Sheets.
• You check your own work, flag implausible figures, and investigate discrepancies until you find the cause.
• You coordinate easily, ask questions when information is missing, and take responsibility.
