As a Junior Supply Chain Planner, you ensure an optimal balance between availability and inventory costs, monitor vendors’ delivery performance, and align the inventory strategy with your team’s strategic and commercial plans.

What you do

As a Junior Supply Chain Planner, you are responsible for the optimal balance between availability and inventory costs for your product groups. In addition, you are responsible for vendors’ delivery performance and ensure that the inventory strategy aligns with your team’s strategic and commercial plans. During the first six months, you will receive personal guidance within a fully staffed team, so that you learn all the ins and outs of the profession as quickly as possible. After this period, you may be assigned your own area, possibly in another team. What you enjoy doing

  • You translate commercial plans into a smart inventory and purchasing strategy, from long-term planning to last-minute additional orders.
  • You monitor every day whether ordered products arrive on time and make adjustments by chasing suppliers and keeping your data up to date.
  • You are the link between your Category Team and the Warehouse: you continuously weigh capacity, value, and risks against one another to make the best choices.
  • You monitor delivery performance based on SLAs and draw up improvement plans so that our customers receive their orders when we promise.
  • You critically examine forecasts and inventory levels, identify opportunities and bottlenecks, and celebrate with your team the moments when you placed an additional order just in time to prevent an out-of-stock icon.

What you can do

  • Completed a commercial higher professional or university degree.
  • Because of the contact with suppliers, it is important that you have a good command of the Dutch language.
  • An affinity with or demonstrable experience related to Supply Chain is a plus.
  • You see problems primarily as opportunities to make the process smarter and take the initiative to propose and test improvements.
  • You switch easily between internal teams, logistics and vendors. You understand their different interests well and know how to connect them.
